Admission & Eligibility

MBIS serves students in Grades K–12. For secondary credits and OSSD completion, Ontario Ministry of Education requirements apply (e.g., prerequisites, literacy, community involvement, online-learning requirement).

  • We accept Ontario, international, part-time, and mature students (18+).
  • Placement is based on prior records, prerequisites, and where needed, diagnostic assessment.
  • MBIS may request English language evidence or provide an internal placement.

Assessment & Evaluation

Assessment follows Ontario policy (Growing Success). Course outlines specify categories, weightings, and culminating tasks. Late/missed work, academic support, and opportunities to demonstrate learning are handled with fairness and evidence.

  • 70% term work, 30% final evaluation (unless otherwise noted in the outline).
  • Diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments are used throughout each course.
  • Accommodations provided as documented; see Special Education.

Academic Integrity

Students must submit original work and properly cite sources. Use of AI, translation, or tutoring tools must align with the teacher’s directions. Violations may result in a re-do, mark consequences, or additional learning tasks.

  • Prohibited: plagiarism, unauthorized collaboration, contract cheating.
  • Permitted: teacher-approved tools with transparent citation/attribution.

Privacy & Records (OSR/OST)

MBIS collects, uses, and stores personal information for admission, instruction, assessment, and reporting. Student records are managed per Ontario Ministry requirements for the Ontario Student Record (OSR) and Ontario Student Transcript (OST).

  • Access to OSR/OST follows regulated procedures. Requests must be written.
  • We use secure systems for grade reporting and document transfer.

Fees & Refunds

Tuition and administrative fees are published each year. Certain fees (e.g., document evaluation, exam rescheduling, courier) may apply. Refunds follow the timelines and conditions below.

  • Some fees are non-refundable once services begin (e.g., partially completed courses).
  • Refund requests must be written to admissions@maplebridge.school.

Final Exams & Proctoring

Final evaluations may include exams, performance tasks, or portfolios. Identity verification and supervised proctoring (online or in-person) may be required.

  • Photo ID is required for exams. Approved calculators/devices only.
  • Absences must be documented; rescheduling may include a fee.

Technology & Online Conduct

Students use MBIS platforms responsibly. Respectful communication, privacy protection, and academic honesty are required in all virtual spaces.

Complaints & Appeals
